Juan and Maria Adela Barrientos, a Mexican-American couple, tell how they came from Mexico to San Antonio, Texas, with their two young children and earn their livelihood by making and selling pinatas, a family tradition. As they reminisce about the past, Juan harvests bamboo and splits the stalks into thin strips to make the pinata frames. This video dates back to 1988, it is a good addition to this blog for it teaches about the art of pinata making and how it evolves over time. It also shows how pinata affects the lives of both purchasers and sellers. One of the best videos about pinata making you will ever see.
