Yes, It Exists: Andy Warhol Head Piñata

As part of the Brooklyn Ball Fundraising Event,  on April 22nd of 2010, the lobby of The Brooklyn Museum displayed a twenty-foot-tall piñata in the shape of Andy Warhol’s head! The Brooklyn Ball celebrated the landmark partnership between the Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art by creating the largest and most comprehensive costume collection in the world.

As far as what Andy Warhol’s head made into a piñata has to do with anything: The pinata was filled with a sweet treat, and it hanged amid a series of food installations that also included drinking paintings and suspended melting cheese heads made by food artist/caterer Jennifer Rubell. The installation, called “Icons,” was described as a “once-in-a-lifetime, participatory food journey through the Brooklyn Museum as inspired by some of the greatest icons of contemporary art.”
